Monday 27 August
  • 7.30-8.45am: Breakfast hosted by the Computer Society in conjunction with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner; Northern Club, Auckland. The Privacy Commissioner, Marie Shroff, and Assistant Commissioner Blair Stewart will discuss the issue of security breach notification, and will make an announcement of interest to businesses.
Tuesday 28 August
  • 8.30am - 12.30pm: Forum on "Privacy and technology in the 21st century", Ground Floor Theatrette, Waring Taylor St/Customhouse Quay, Wellington [programme]. Registrations now on waiting list basis only.
  • 5-30 - 7.00 Cocktail party (invitation only), Wellesley Hotel, Wellington. There will be a particular focus on young people and privacy.
Wednesday 29 August
  • 12.00 - 1.30 pm: Lunch hosted by the Computer Society in conjunction with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner; Grand Chancellor Hotel, Christchurch. The Privacy Commissioner, Marie Shroff, and Assistant Commissioner Blair Stewart will further discuss the issue of security breach notification.
Thursday 30 August
  • Lunchtime: participation in Community Law Centre Hui, Grey Lynn, Auckland. Speaker: Emma Pond, Team Leader Investigations, Auckland.
    Release of case notes.
Friday 31 August
  • Morning: Presentation to Waikato District Health Board privacy facilitators, together with rest home administrators; Hamilton. Speaker: Mike Flahive, Manager Investigations.
Privacy Officers' activities

In addition to this, many privacy officers are hosting their own events within their organisations during Privacy Awareness Week. The Office is providing materials and other support as required.
