Whats Happening : Privacy Victoria
Privacy is your business - Make sure you know the rules
This year, the focus of Privacy Awareness Week in Victoria is mainly on the public service.
All Victorian public sector organisations - including Government Departments and local councils - are bound by the Information Privacy Act 2000.
To remind staff of their privacy obligations a poster and two information postcards are being widely distributed. The materials use the theme 'Privacy is your business - make sure you know the rules'. A series of free events is also being held in Melbourne.
