Privacy Awareness Week 2007

Privacy Awareness Week is a promotional campaign first initiated by Privacy Victoria in 2001. This year, for the first time, Privacy Awareness Week has gone international and will be jointly promoted by the Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) forum members which include:

  • Office of the Privacy Commissioner, Australia
  • Office of the Privacy Commissioner, New Zealand
  • Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong
  • Korean Information Security Agency
  • Privacy Victoria
  • Privacy NSW
  • Office of the Information Commissioner, Northern Territory

The week is an opportunity for organisations and agencies covered by privacy legislation in these jurisdictions to promote privacy awareness to their staff, customers, and to the wider community.

The theme for Privacy Awareness Week 2007 is ‘Privacy is your business'.
